Doosan Puma GT2100M and Lynx 220LSY CNC Lathes Are Latest Addition

You may remember from our last newsletter that we took delivery of a brand new Studer CNC cylindrical grinder at our Sevenoaks factory back in May.

Now, as part of our continuing investment in our manufacturing capabilities, we have taken delivery and installation of 4 brand new CNC lathes in Sevenoaks as well.
These were commissioned at the beginning of June, and have been busy manufacturing parts for gearkits, hubs and numerous other products since.

We have two new Doosan Puma GT2100M lathes both with driven tooling, a new bar fed Doosan Lynx 220LSY also with driven tooling, incorporating a twin spindle feature capable of completing 2 turning cycles on a single part with only one setting, and a new Doosan Lynx 220L used predominantly for our finishing work.

These new lathes have been integrated into our turning cell to make the most efficient use of our factory floor space and, between them, drastically cut the manufacturing time taken for each part, allowing us to spend less time setting machines, and using these savings to make more parts for your orders.

Swiftune Engineering

swiftune

A company as well established as our own; Swiftune was started by Glyn Swift in 1965, when the Austin Mini was the car to race, and specialises in building race engines for this well-loved classic.

Now run by Glyn’s son Nick, Swiftune continues to build race and championship winning engines for Minis on both the national and international stage, with Nick himself still racing.

And it’s not just Minis that Swiftune cater for. They also build race-winning engines for many other competition cars powered by the A series engine, including the MG Midgets, historic Austin Healey Sprites, and Austin A35s.

With a wealth of experience and expertise with the Austin Mini, it’s no surprise that Swiftune is the exclusive distributor for all of our Quaife Austin Mini gearkits, ATB and Tran-X differentials, steering racks and drive shafts.

Quaife Sponsorship: Ginetta Juniors

Ginetta

As part of Quaife’s commitment to motorsport, we sponsor various championships with their transmission and drivetrain requirements.
One of these championships is the Ginetta Junior championship.

This entry level race series gives aspiring racing drives aged between 14 and 17 the opportunity to get involved in close, on track racing in Ginetta’s G20 coupé, or the newer G40.

One driver to watch this year is 15 year old Jordan Dempsey, racing the G20 coupé in the Ginetta Junior Ireland championship.
Halfway though the season, the current championship leader has already beaten the class lap records for 2 circuits this season; Kirkistown & Mondello, that were both previously set in 2011 by ex-competitors in the championship.
