Quaife is proud to be actively supporting Racing4MND.org

image002Motorsport is an exciting, dynamic business which moves and evolves with sometimes astonishing rapidity.

Yet the industry means nothing if it forgets the human touch of compassion and goodwill, particularly to those of its own who are experiencing difficult times, requiring care and assistance from the broader motorsport community.

Hence why Quaife is proud to be supporting Racing4MND.org, a new charity set up by former GT racer Neil Cunningham, designed to raise funds to combat Moto Neurone Disease.

Thus far Racing4MND.org has raised a fantastic £52,500 and we urge you to assist by raising funds in whatever way you can, or simply by donating by visiting www.racing4mnd.org

About Racing4MND.org

A professional driver for 27 years, in the early 2000’s Neil Cunningham raced against Michael Quaife in the prestigious British GT series. Neil’s career then saw him switch disciplines to become a stunt driver for the Top Gear Live show, plus he also worked on the stunning driving sequences in the 2008 James Bond movie Quantum of Solace.

Neil was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2010.

Motor Neurone Disease has been described as the last truly incurable disease of the modern day. There are lots of incurable diseases, but MND is one of the most physically and psychologically challenging, and is rapidly progressive and fatal. It can affect ANY ADULT at any time and attacks the motor neurones that send messages from the brain to the muscles, leaving people unable to walk, talk or feed themselves.

The cause of the disease is unknown. Around 5,000 people in the UK have MND at any one time, with half of people with the disease dying within 20 months of the initial diagnosis. It kills five people every day in the UK.

Neil Cunningham has set up Racing4MND.org in conjunction with the Heaton Ellis Trust to raise funds for research against this debilitating disease and particularly to support the research conducted at Kings College Hospital by Professor Christopher Shaw and his team.
